Some jewellery is made to be admired. Other pieces are made to hold the people we never want to forget.
When Darren walked through our doors, he brought something far more precious than gold. He brought his mum's jewellery, her diamonds and sapphires, and some of her ashes. Each held a memory, and he had an idea for how to bring them together into something he could keep close.
Our job was to turn that idea into reality.
Working closely with Darren, we designed a one-of-a-kind thumb ring using the gold and precious stones from his mum's jewellery. Before any work began, we created a detailed 3D design, allowing him to see his ring from every angle and make any changes before giving us the go-ahead.
Darren loved the character of a hammered finish. With diamonds and beautiful blue sapphires remaining from his mum's jewellery, we decided to scatter them across the band, creating a design that felt personal, distinctive and entirely his own.
His mum's ashes were also incorporated into this deeply meaningful commission, making the finished ring more than a piece of jewellery. It became a way of keeping a part of her close, wherever life takes him.
For us, this was a privilege to create. A reminder that the true value of jewellery isn't always measured in gold or gemstones, but in the memories and love it carries.
